Jeddah Lanes Humble Berks in ICBL/FTBJ Family Friday Bowlfest

JEDDAH, 30 May 2003 — The Jeddah Lanes team keglers rolled a big round to dismantle the Berks team (2,811-2,578) in the 11th week of the Inter-Commercial Friday Bowling League being played at the Bowling World. The league is organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) under the leadership of its newly elected FTBJ President, Rene San Pedro.

It was the tandem of Edna Uy and Igna Salgado who powered the Jeddah Lanes quintet to post astounding win against the Berks. Uy and Salgado sparkled with a separate three-game series of 606 and 603. FTBJ Classic champion, Jun Pilipina and the southpaw Rally Zamora together with Vangie Lim provided splendid support to Uy and Salgado by adding a separate three game series of 572, 550 and 480. The Jeddah Lanes at the end of the matches compiled 27 points.

For the Berks team, posting the best scores was Linda Escondo who toppled a series of 593 in three matches. Jess Pineda and Jay Perez had a series of 525 and 517 in three outings while Espin Timbayan and Jess Escondo scored 477 and 466. The Berks sealed 13 points at the end of the games.

Lux Progress proved too strong for Saudi Pearl (2,934-2,798) with the duo of Andy Erena and Danny Bautista posting separate three game series of 622 and 617. Zeny Mendoza and Dads Gueco scored 591 and 580 series in three sets while Fatima Jintarat added a series of 539. The Lux Progress collected 39 points.

Saudi Pearl still holds the top spot. Lyn Decena and Danny De Guzman led Saudi Pearl by knocking-down separate three-game series of 590 and 581. Myrna de Guzman seared the lanes to post a series of 574 while Boy Casio and Rey Beltran downed 527 and 526. The Saudi Pearl sealed 27 points at the end of the matches and compiled overall total points of 47.

Abudawood Trading dismantled the Rejonal Aces on lanes 1 and 2 (2,903-2,722). The triumvirate of Roger Abantas, Eddie Alisbo and Nap Patayan lifted the Abudawood Trading team by carding a separate three-game series of 611, 607 and 601. Susan Patayan and Aiza Silabay chipped in a series of 568 and 516.

Tess Marasigan and Joey Salvador topscored in the Rejonal Aces by tallying a series of 587 and 580. Rene Santiago and Grace Siasoco submitted a series of 538 and 536 while Nanding Siasoco registered 529 pinfalls.

An overwhelming victory was registered by the Sadafco-Saudia Majestic over the Asereje (2,700-2,535).

Bamba Diaz stole thunder to topscore in the Sadafco-Saudi Majestic by pumping-in a series of 607 in three matches. The Cerbito couple, Bheng and Jess came-in next to Diaz with the best series of 557 and 547. Dante Calapatia and Edu Toledo garnered a series of 531 and 458. The Sadafco snatched 20 points.

Elite Roger Daquioag was at helm in Asereje by toppling a series of 536. May Lourdes, James Galvan and Ed Labuac downed a separate series of 518, 512 and 511. Cora del Rosario pinned down 458 series in three matches.

The SkyFreight Forwarders demolished the NPS (2,781-2,688) and cornering limelight in the SkyFreight was Hero Garcia with a series of 576. Fully Primo dazzled to score a series of 567 while the multi-awarded Cris Villavelez fired a series of 553. Rod “turbo” Morales and Lilia Banes shone to post a series of 551 and 534. The SkyFreight Forwarders collected 26 points.

Randy “Gigolo” Mata led in the NPS by posting a series of 565 in three outings and next to him was Pinky Acato with 558 series. Goying Salazar and the Charrie Cruz had a series of 556 and 550 while Ador Torres poured 459 points.
