Jeddah Summer Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow

JEDDAH, 25 June 2003 — Jeddah 24, the city’s summer festival, begins tomorrow with its formal inauguration under the auspices of Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed at 9 p.m. at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.

As many as 200 events have been lined up for the month-long festival across the city, according to Asad Abuljadayel, executive president of Arab Media Services (ARA), which is organizing the festival this year in cooperation with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The festival this time offers a diversity of recreational activities. All events this year will be a big draw as families from different parts of the Kingdom flock to Jeddah to spend their vacation.

Among this year’s attractions are a Big Top circus and a music performance by a group of 18 Saudi and Gulf artists. The artists will perform at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium between July 3 and 9.

The Big Top 2003 will feature a Universal Circus and acrobatics at its pavilion in the Al-Andalus district, which can accommodate 3,000 spectators.
