AMMAN, 1 July 2003 — Jordan Telecom on Sunday dispatched an “Internet bus” to neighboring Iraq to offer free services and computer training to the Iraqi people, a statement here said. “The move aims to introduce new technologies to the Iraqi people and spread the Internet knowledge among various areas, beginning with Rutba,” 134 km from the Jordan-Iraq border, the statement said. “The Internet bus is equipped with 20 personal computers all connected to the Internet through the latest state of the arts technologies, including VSAT and ADSL lines to provide speedy access and browsing capabilities,” it added.
