JEDDAH, 4 July 2003 — Saudi Foods Maggi beat Easy Life 70-60 to claim the championship trophy for the bona fide division in the year 2003 Seiko-JBL basketball tournament at the Bin Mahfouz Sports Complex basketball court.
Both teams were well matched over 3 quarters. In the final quarter, Maggi applied man-to-man defense and pressured Easy Life, leading to costly errors. MVP candidate Bacotoc paced the Saudi Foods Maggi with 17 points and was adjudged as the Seiko best player of the game while Allan scored 16 points for Easy Life.

United Yousef M. Naghi Electronics Division defeated ALJ Prado 104-92. ALJ Prado manage to dictate the tempo of the game up to third quarter, when United Yousef Naghi applied pressure defense to slowly catch up the lead.
Roger Rumusud, special assistant to Ahmed Sfarjilani, VP of United Yousef Naghi Electronics division, was present to lift the morale of the players, and the players responded with a spurt in the fourth. Coach Danny Lequin masterfully planned the fourth quarter assault to tame the offensive thrust of ALJ Prado.
Nap Solis pumped 33 points for United Yousef Naghi and was named as the Al Rabei Pulz best player of the game while Edwin Gadingan topscored with 34 points for ALJ Prado.
United Yousef M. Naghi beat Al Tazaj 83-68 for the crown of open non-rated division. United Yousef Naghi pounded the defense of Al Tazaj throughout the game. Al Tazaj playing minus their two top players tried to hold off United Yousef M. Naghi, but could not stop their rivals.
Playmaker Nap Solis with able support from the outside sniper Barry Nader and the bull strong MVP candidate Aaron Mayo dominated the shaded area. Barry Nader topscored with 20 points and Mayo with 19 points for United Yousef M. Naghi while Leo Almoite scored 22 points for Al Tazaj. Nader and Mayo were adjudged as the Seiko best players of the game.
Meanwhile, the preparation for the JBL 2nd Conference basketball tournament is going on and tentatively will start on the July 18 in the same venue.
Three categories are at stake: Inter-company Bona fide Weak and Strong and the Inter-commercial open non-rated. Above 40 open non-rated teams are invited to join the tournament.
