At Auction, People With More Money Than Sense

JEDDAH, 8 July 2003 — The Traffic Department held an auction of vanity number plates recently, drawing huge interest, Al-Madinah reported. The top bid was for a plate with the number LLL-999, which went for SR650,000. According to Okaz newspaper, the buyer does not own a car but liked the look of the plate. The cheapest plate went for SR210,000.
