ADPCO & Natest Win in DHL Super Cup

ALKHOBAR, 25 July 2003 — In the DHL Super Cup in EPCA Natest beat SVM in a nail-biting finish. Batting first Natest piled up 220 runs for three wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Thanks to Kashif, who batted magnificently for 83 runs with help of 6 boundaries and five sixes Natest posted a big total. Nasir Zain contributed 28 runs, Naveed Iqbal 24 runs and Waheed scored a breezy 45 runs in just 16 balls studded with 4 sixes and four boundaries. In reply, SVM put on 43 runs when they lost Syed Amin for 20 runs. Rubelin D’Souza joined David and took the score to 97 runs when David was caught after contributing 32 runs. Soon Mahboob returned to pavilion but Rubelin batted on solidly despite wickets falling at quick intervals. He scored a majestic 96 runs that included six sixes and four boundaries and took his team within sight of victory. But he was bowled with SVM just 2 runs short.

In another match ADPCO beat Nawab CC by 6 wickets. Nawab CC put on 166 runs for 5 wickets in there allotted 20 overs. Suresh after batting nicely lost his wicket when he was on 46 runs. Khudrat Khan also batted well for 35 runs. Nadeem contributed 25 runs and Abid scored quick 20 in just 5 balls. Robin bowled well and took 2 wickets. ADPCO reach the target in the last over, thanks to Mohammed Sohrab, who once again showed his class by scoring 81 runs which included 9 hits to the ropes and two sixes. Ghrish also played well and scored 24 runs.
