APO-DhAA Celebrate 19th Anniversary

ALKHOBAR, 1 August 2003 — The Alpha Phi Omega-Dhahran Alumni Association (APO-DhAA), the 14th recognized alumni association of Alpha Phi Omega (Philippines) International Collegiate Service Fraternity & Sorority, held a single day team bowling tournament last week at Carlton Al-Moaibed Hotel Bowling Center to celebrate its 19th Anniversary on July 8.

Four teams, White, Red, Blue, and Yellow formed from among its resident members from Alkhobar and Dammam, vied for the gold medal. APO-DhAA President Ernesto “Hetep” Sangalang led the celebration.

The tournament was highlighted in a ceremony and membership certificates together with Alpha Phi Omega (APO) jacket vest (with an APO DhAA insignia) was presented to every member leaving the Kingdom for good, as well as the awarding of medals to the winners. Hetep Sangalang, Beta Chapter incumbent president, relinquished his post to the Delta Chapter Executive Vice President Elwyn Goling. Sangalang is leaving the Kingdom.

“APO Dhahran Alumni Association, as a service organization reached another milestone in our continuous quest for leadership, friendship and service,” Cesar Caton of Zeta Theta Chapter said.

Yellow Team emerged as the Champion team. Composing the team are Alex “Soyti” Santos, captain, Jewel Pagsuguiron, Hetep Sangalang, Alex Uriarte, Edgar Verginisa, Warren Sabado, Ver Guevarra, Ed Escueta and Cesar Caton.

The Blue Team of captain Mario “forma” Brinas, snatched the 1st runner-up with support from Bobby Manansala, Malone Mondoy, Archie Bal, Ronald Sambilay, Viyo Basa and Joel Balbedina. The 2nd runner-up went to the Red Team of Rex “Boboy” Figueroa, captain.

The White Team of Ramon “Macro” Macrohon, captain, landed as the 3rd runner-up.
