Lufthansa Resumes Nonstop Flights

RIYADH, 2 August 2003 — Lufthansa German Airlines has announced the resumption of nonstop flights between Riyadh and Frankfurt. Effective Aug. 4, Lufthansa flights will take off from Frankfurt for Riyadh on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from Riyadh to Frankfurt on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Frankfurt will be at 2 p.m. and arrival in Riyadh 8.30 p.m.; departure from Riyadh at 1.50 a.m. and arrival in Frankfurt at 6.45 a.m.

Kanoo Holidays Launches Club for Travelers

JEDDAH, 2 August 2003 — A new club has been launched by Kanoo Holidays, which is headed by its executive general manager, Nabil Kanoo. “This is a club where people can submit their e-mail addresses to receive Kanoo Holidays’ latest special offers,” said Mujib Khan, Kanoo Holidays manager for the Western Region. “They will also receive information by e-mail on competitions and exclusive promotions that Kanoo Holidays runs.” Khan said the club is a first of its kind and anyone in the Kingdom and elsewhere in the Middle East can become a member.

Self Check-In Kiosks for Frequent Travelers

DUBAI, 2 August 2003 — All “Skywards” passengers traveling with just a hand baggage can now check themselves in for a flight using the new self check-in kiosks at Dubai International Airport. Emirates Airline chairman Sheikh Ahmed ibn Saeed Al-Maktoum, with vice chairman and group president Maurice Flanagan and president Tim Clark, unveiled the kiosks in the departure hall for Emirates’ first and business class passengers a week ago. Kiosks are also located in the airport’s main departures hall for Skywards members traveling in economy class. “The Dubai government is committed to a strategy of developing e-commerce to foster greater efficiency and transparency between its business processes and the business community, both within the emirate and the wider international business community. Emirates is proud to support this initiative,” Sheikh Ahmed said.

Emirates Promotions Energize Dubai’s Summer
