RIYADH, 29 August 2003 — The Al Mashrik group logged a 45-28 win over the Bankers Tennisters with Doy Vicera and Agot Ariles beat Gilbert Faustino and Ruel Barraoga 8-4 followed by Dennis Laguio and Danny Francisco battering of Roel Genson and partner 8-6. Gerry De Guzman and Mario Abrasaldo unveiled their finest game to beat Serge Ariola and Sonny Ocampo 8-2. Sammy Gacul and Tim San Gabriel pinned down Chito Abreau and Boggs Mendoza 8-3, Gil Gasga and Roy Cerilan dumped Ed Robillos and partner 8-5 while Nelson Etor and Paul Praga were ambushed by Manny Obligado and Rolly Barrozo 5-8.
The DQ Hunks managed by Bert Oliva and Cesar Unabia ignited the court with a 45-26 win over the Patriot Builders while the ABV’s Tomahawk Bombers struggled to beat the Blockbusters 44-34.
The Limvudocie team of Ed Galvez and Herbie Trazo resisted a fight back to clinch a morale-boosting 47-30 victory against the Pace-Setters group, while the Aces & Faults headed by Rey Beninsig and Rene Suarez beat the Laguna Tennisters 46-21. Lucky Shots team of Robert Romero were swept away by Awalnet-Ters team.
This event of the Association of Filipino Tennis Players (AFTP) is being held at Al Yamama Hotel Sports Complex.
