Acer Computers (M.E.) Ltd. has decided to provide custom-built servers for small and medium-size businesses (SMB) in the Middle East. The company’s plan to make customized servers for orders as small as one will enable all sizes of organizations to share information effectively. Acer will make the servers as per the exact configuration requirements of each and every customer.
The initiative — positioning Acer as the only company to offer a one-stop server solution in the Middle East — will make it easier for small and medium-sized businesses to buy a server and have it configured to their exact standards. Servers, which are hardware platforms used for sharing information and data, have until now been configured for this segment of the market by a channel partner.
“Companies in the Middle East expect more than just a box, they want their server to be configured by experts and we are best placed to give the top-level of service in this area,” said Krishna Murthy, GM, Acer Computer (ME) Ltd.
“This custom-built service sets us ahead of other players in the market. By doing the customization ourselves we are cutting out any chance of non-standard components being used.”
Uniquely positioned as the only company to configure its own products in the Middle East, Acer will carry out its new service for SMBs at the state-of-the-art Unique Loading (Uniload) assembly plant based at Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, UAE. The company decided to launch this initiative based on the large number of SMBs established in the Middle East.
“Acer aims to meet the needs of all business people in the region. Launching this new custom-built service for businesses across the board means that we are able to further increase our market share in this sector,” said Murthy. “Our research shows that an increasing number of SMBs are using servers to share critical business information. The custom-built servers from Acer ensure customers get 100 per cent factory configured servers paving the way for enhanced quality and reliability.”
