RIYADH, 10 September 2003 — Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal was unharmed following an attempt by two Libyans to attack him in the lobby of a Cairo hotel on Monday, a Foreign Ministry source said yesterday. “The prince completed his official engagements normally as he attended a consultative meeting at the Arab League headquarters the same day,” the source said. Egyptian authorities are investigating Fathi Beshir Saad, 25, and Mahmud Al-Beshir Ahmed, 27, to discover the motives behind their attack. Prince Saud has confirmed the incident. “One man tried to attack me but the men around me stopped him,” he told reporters.
