RIYADH, 13 September 2003 — Saudi and Russian businessmen are studying the feasibility of establishing a helicopter factory in the Kingdom, according to Abdul Rahman Al-Jeraisy, chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
“Saudi and Russian businessmen will form a joint stock company to set up the plant as soon as the feasibility study is completed,” Jeraisy told Al-Hayat newspaper.
Jeraisy said he had high hopes for the success of the project as there is a substantial market for helicopters here. The departments of traffic and civil defense as well as hospitals and the Saudi Red Crescent Society need choppers.
