Sultan Opens Qasim Airport Project

BURAIDAH, 16 September 2003 — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, inaugurated the expansion project of the royal terminal at the Qasim Regional Airport here yesterday.

The Presidency of Civil Aviation has spent more than SR300 million on the airport’s expansion projects since it was established in 1964, according to Abdullah Ruhaimy, head of the presidency. Ruhaimy said his department had made allocations for the development of Qasim airport.

Prince Sultan, who is on an inspection tour of the central region, arrived here earlier in the day. He was received at the airport by Qasim Governor Prince Faisal ibn Bandar and other senior officials.
