JEDDAH, 20 September 2003 — A pair of Egyptian Siamese twins will be separated in a Saudi hospital at the expense of Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, the official Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.

The two sisters will be separated in the next few weeks at King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Riyadh, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiea, executive director general of health affairs at the National Guard, said.

A medical team led by Dr. Rabiea has successfully performed three similar operations in the past. Two Malaysian brothers were separated at the hospital in September 2002, also at the expense of Prince Abdullah.
