Enterprise storage company, STME, has embarked on a yearlong project to transform its operations by integrating its business processes, applications and critical information online for internal access.

“As is the case with many of our customers in the Middle East, STME has traditionally had banks of information sitting in our different offices around the region, and paper-based processes.

“We’re now integrating this data and streamlining our operations to provide faster access to more accurate information, while making more informed decisions about the direction of our business,” said Trevor Hutson, STME president & CEO.

To cope with the organization’s rapid growth, and to provide a more efficient, productive and customer orientated working environment, STME has undertaken a project called VISION (Versatile Information System Integrating Operations and Needs), which is being driven by Ancel Fernandes, STME’s Executive VP, Marketing & Audit.

“As part of VISION, we will be transforming our paper-based ISO 9001:2000 certified quality management system to an online business process management system using Metastorm e-work,” said Fernandes.

“STME will have the first implementation of Metastorm e-work in the Middle East. Metastorm is a leading provider of business process management software for automating, managing and controlling processes.

The VISION project, which is being implemented in four phases, will be completed early next year.

The first phase of the project will focus on human resource-related processes within STME — recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, time sheets, leave requests, employee awards, and improvement opportunity requests, and will be rolled out this month.
