SAVAR, Bangladesh, 19 October 2003 — Rain forced a draw yesterday between Bangladesh A and England in the visitors’ second three-day tour match.

England were in command with Bangladesh, 91 runs behind from the first innings, reduced to 81 for four at lunch.

Bangladesh resumed on an overnight score of six for no wicket after England were all out for 333 replying to Bangladesh’s first innings score of 242.

Off spinner Gareth Batty picked up three wickets for 19 runs after first-innings centurion Nafis Iqbal was caught by Graham Thorpe at gully off Steve Harmison for 31.

Batty dismissed Aftab Ahmed (8) with the second ball of his first over and later extracted bounce to pick up Rajin Saleh (1) and Nazimuddin (2) to reduce the home side to 81 for four at lunch.

Rain started during the lunch interval and did not let up so the captains decided to settle for a draw.
