DAMMAM, 12 December 2003 — In the second week of K. A-Al-Gosaibi League, in premier division Nawab beat Imran Tigers by 69 runs. Nawab scored 243 in 40 overs. Naweed (50), Waheed (44) and Shahjahan (33) were the main scorers. Pervez and Athar claimed two wickets each. Imran Tigers were all out for 174. Talal Iqbal (46) and Waseem Malik (35) stood out as Tariq Tanveer took 5 for 29 runs. Riaz Saeed and Rizwan took 2 wickets each.
AGE crushed Natest by 8 wickets. Natest managed to score 161 runs as AGE's Naveed Khan took 5 for 44 and was supported by Abul Hassan 3 for 15. AGE then reached the target in 18 overs with Hamid Jamil(86 - 3 sixes) and Irfan Farooqui 35 not out leading the way.
Iqbal Bali, who had 109 runs, 2 wickets, 3 catches, helped Kanoo defeat Close Up by 59 runs. Bali guided Kanoo to 307 for 5 wickets, with Zulfiqar Goga (89), Abid Ghafoor (42) too contributing. Close Up then scored 249 in 40 overs with Nadeem (56), Naeem (49) outstanding as Abdul Naheed took 5 for 51. In First Division, Rani defeated Hyderabad Blues by 4 wickets. Mansoor's 43 boosted Hyderabad Blues to 237 for as Ehtisham took 4 for 44 and Zaafr 2 for 33 runs. Rani achieved the target in 35 overs. Nazir Hussain (47), Mohammed Asif(47) and Ahtisham (32) scored. Jafer took 5 for 50.
ADPCO shocked SVM by 3 wickets. SVM scored 233 in 40 overs thanks to Ayub Khan (52) and Mehboob Nabi (57). Ahmed bagged 3 for 50 run and Abid had 2 for 38 runs. ADPCO scored the required runs in 39.3 overs. Shakeel (89) and a captain's knock of 53 by Sohrab did the trick. Shakeel, David and Nasim bagged 2 wickets each.
Khalifa Al-Gosaibi outplayed Basim by 72 runs. Anser (47) was the top scorer. Wasiullah(45), Ayas scored 42 runs for Al-Gosaibi as Ishaq claimed 4 for 41. Ilyas and Hasik took 2 wickets each.
Basim were all out for 166 runs. Wasiullah and Ejaz claimed 3 wickets each. Youngster defeated SH Fayyaz by 4 wickets. SH Fayyaz scored 167 runs with Qasim (50) and Irfan (21) standing out. Fakhi and Rizwan claimed 4 wickets each. Zulfiqar (42) and Raza (37) helped Youngster reach the target in 25 overs.
