DUBAI, 20 December 2003 — Burj Al Arab has been ranked the best hotel in the world in the Institutional Investor magazine’s 23rd annual survey of the world’s best hotels. It is claimed to be the first hotel to ever debut at No. 1 in this award, an accolade that has been historically coveted by some of the most famous and established hotels located around the globe. To compile its rankings, the magazine surveyed more than 100 senior financial executives from 24 countries who spent an average of 65 nights in leading hotels all over the world. Dubai’s landmark hotel notched up an extraordinary 97 points on scale of 100. The winning score in the 2002 survey was 90.3, a remarkable achievement for Jumeirah International’s flagship hotel.
