RIYADH , 26 December 2003 — Pacific Cargo won the Game One of their best-of-3 championship game in the Inter-Company Open category league while Majeur5/R&E Sports were crowned champion in the 5Ǝ' and below category tournament being held at the RKH Skydome court.
Pacific Cargo 91-Al Bustan 80: Dennis Almario, the prominent power forward of Pacific Cargo unloaded 20 points to lead his team over Al Bustan RMC. Jeff Baybay scored 19 points while veteran cager Tata Santander contributed 15 points, Julius Morales added 11 points and Danny Bugayong with 10 points.
Majeur5/R&E Sports 116-WRJ 110: The Game One of the best-of-3 championship series went to Majeur5 managed by Peter Dellosa and coached by Boy Gunobgunob. The game had to undergo two extra periods before Majeur5 finally overwhelmed the determined WRJ Cargo managed by William Jao.
Dong Bravo, the best player of the game, fired 27 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal to lead Majeur5 over WRJ Cargo. Glenn Imuan, the most consistent player awardee, contributed 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and one block. Other players who scored in double figures were Jovan Roble with 20 points, Vic Alves with 15 points, Richard Hadlucon with 12 points, Boy Leodegario with 11 points.
WRJ 94-Majeur5/R&E Sports 83: WRJ came back with a vengeance in Game Two against Majeur5 with Roel Baruel topscoring for WRJ firing 27 big points, 13 rebounds, Peter Hernando contributed 20 points, Jeff Salac 16 points, Nestor Alforque 14 points and Fareed Badawi 12 points.
Majeur5/R&E Sports won the final and last match of the 5Ǝ' category due to a no show of the WRJ Cargo Team. Awarding ceremonies immediately followed with Garnet Cargo, who prevailed over Pepsi X in the battle for 3rd place, getting their 2nd runners up trophy.
Jeff Salac of WRJ Cargo was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the series while Boy Leodegario of Majeur5 got the Finals MVP award.
First Mythical Five awardees included Roel Baruel as Center, Jeff Salac and Boy Leodegario as Forwards, Richard Hadlucon and Peter Hernando, guards. Second Mythical five awardees were Julius Morales, center, Nestor Alforque and Toto Santiago as forwards, Sandy Fugaban and Jun Gantan as guards.
Best in 3-point artist went to Jun Biwang of the Jonathans of Riyadh team, scoring leader — Jeff Salac, Most Improved Player — Lino Fernandez, Crowd Favorite — Mike Placino, Rookie of the league — Rashid Mangotara, Tapal King — Ronnie Sajaulga, Best in assists — Edwin Solomon, Best sportsmanship award — Sherwin Manalo, Most Consistent Player — Glenn Imuan.
