DALLAS, 31 January 2003 — Pierre Turgeon’s power play goal in the third period clawed back a two-goal deficit for the Dallas Stars in their 2-2 tie with the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
The game marked the return of former Stars coach Ken Hitchcock to Dallas, where he led the team to a Stanley Cup championship in 1999.
Philadelphia took a 2-0 lead but the Stars rallied to earn the tie, stretching their unbeaten run to five games (4-0-1).
The Flyers are winless in four (0-3-1), but did snap their three-game losing streak with the tie. Philadelphia had lost six of its past eight games. Sergei Zubov scored the other goal for Dallas, while Marty Turco made 26 saves in goal.

In Pittsburgh, Sebastien Caron made 30 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Penguins beat the Chicago Blackhawks 1-0.
