French Leaders Monaco Held at Bastia
In Paris, Monaco dropped two points in their near perfect race to the Ligue 1 title when they were held to a goalless draw at Bastia yesterday.
The French leaders, on 46 points, remain eight clear of second-placed Paris St-Germain who are in action at home to Metz later. Monaco dominated Bastia throughout but blustery conditions and a sturdy Corsican defense hampered the attacking game that has taken them to the knockout phase of the Champions League.
Their best chance came in the 72nd minute when Jerome Rothen’s free kick hit the crossbar after a deflection by a Bastia defender.
