DUBAI: Chilean-Palestinian singer Elyanna and British rapper and songwriter Stormzy on Thursday performed a benefit concert, titled “Artist for Aid,” for Gaza and Sudan in New Jersey.
The stars were joined by US performers Clairo, Faye Webster, Omar Apollo, Nick Hakim, 070Shake and 6lack. Also in attendance was Canadian music sensations Charlotte Day Wilson and Daniel Caesar, Palestinian writer and poet Mohammed El-Kurd, Sudanese-Canadian poet Mustafa, and US-Egyptian comedian Ramy Youssef.
Stormzy performed his hits “Holy Spirit” and “Hide & Seek.”
Before performing, the artists sent messages to their fans on social media.
Elyanna said: “Singing tonight for Gaza and Sudan, see you tonight.”
Meanwhile, Stormzy declared: “Tonight.” This was accompanied by the Sudan and Palestine flags.
All the proceeds will go to Human Concern International, an NGO that provides humanitarian aid to Gaza and Sudan.
