JEDDAH, 5 February 2004 — Four Sri Lankans were killed in a car accident on Makkah-Jeddah Expressway on Tuesday.
Fauzul Ameer, who works in a bank at Ruwais in Jeddah, told Arab News yesterday that he lost his wife, two children and brother-in-law in the accident.
Fathima Zulfia, 32, Abdul Rahman, 4, two-and-a-half year Aysha were being driven back to Jeddah by Fathima’s brother Hassan M. Ameerdeen after visiting Fauzul who had been on Haj duty at the Mina branch of the bank.
“They left for Jeddah around 5 a.m. I heard about the accident a couple of hours later,” Fauzul said.
“My son was very enthusiastic about joining the Sri Lankan International School from the next academic session,” he said.
His brother-in-law, 42-year-old Hassan worked in a cement company in Abha.
