Thomas Hurndall was a young man who dreamed of becoming a photojournalist. Tragically, that dream will never be realized. On April 11, 2003, Hurndall, a British national, was shot in the head by an Israeli soldier while observing and recording the work of a peace group in Gaza. On May 29, Hurndall was flown back to the UK. Nothing could be done to restore his health and he died on Jan. 13, 2004.
The Hurndall family is committed to obtaining justice for Tom. Thanks to their continuous efforts, an IDF sergeant has been arrested and indicted on six charges. The Hurndalls are pressing their lawyers to ensure that another charge — murder, is now added.
Due to the publicity generated by the Hurndall Case there will be an inquest in the UK focusing on the deaths of both Hurndall and James Miller, another British national who was killed in Gaza just over a week after Tom. It is hoped that the investigation will bring to light the truth behind a series of killings of British nationals in the Occupied Territories.
With their son and brother now in God’s care, the Hurndalls need support and encouragement more than ever. For more information and to send a message to the family click to: tomhurndall.co.uk.
