OIC Calls for Strengthening Ties

JEDDAH, 3 March 2004 — A consultative meeting of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Conference here yesterday called for strengthening economic and commercial relations between the OIC states. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ali, president of the Islamic Development Bank, opened the meeting at the bank’s headquarters. The IDB chief noted the initiative taken by Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, at the last OIC summit in Kuala Lumpur to promote economic and commercial cooperation among Islamic countries.
