RIYADH, 13 March 2004 — HP has won a number of key education accounts across the region, including the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT). The computer company is the first multinational to set up shop in the Kingdom after liberalization of the investment law. Its new production plant here has produced 30,000 units to date, according to the HP website. “We are confident that the PC production facility will cater to the growing SMB and education sectors across the region. It’s great to see the ‘Made in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’ sign on the back of the desktops — a first in the PC market in the Middle East,” a spokesman said.
