NEW DELHI, 16 March 2004 — No early solution was in sight on seat sharing in Bihar with leaders of key political parties belonging to the National Democratic Alliance as well as the Secular Alliance still holding talks with their allies to resolve the differences.
With differences persisting over certain seats, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, who is camping in Delhi, has become the focus of attention of non-NDA parties which are looking to him to resolve the problem.
Lok Janshakti Party leader Ramvilas Paswan had a long meeting with Yadav yesterday morning to discuss seat sharing. While the LJP has demanded 10 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, the RJD is not willing to give it more than three.
Likewise, the RJD is also believed to have made up its mind to give somewhere between five and seven seats to Congress, which is keen to contest 10 seats.
