JEDDAH, 17 March 2004 — Local and regional IT companies offering Arabic solutions and education programs are making a big impact at the COMDEX, an IT trade show, at the Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Center, which ends today.

Jeddah-based ACP, which occupies an important position within the Juffali Group of Companies, translates cutting edge technologies into viable business solutions. It provides information systems services including business process engineering enterprise-wide networks, server applications workgroup computing and messaging.
Daleb Factory, based in Riyadh, a CD/DVD manufacturer in the region, has introduced the educational curriculums through the Internet to enable students acquire and interact with them. “Our Dwalej educational website is considered to be the first of its kind in the Middle East,” Jamal N. Anakreh said at the factory stand. The Dwaleb e-learning society is one of the pioneering players in education. Its other new products include programs for the first, second and third grades that involves teaching through story telling. Alkhobar-based DYN-Al Rushaid services, which claims to be the Kingdom’s 12th largest industrial complex, offers a comprehensive set of core IT and security capabilities. “Our mission is to provide a vehicle through which the world’s most innovative IT and security technology is included in the development needs of the Kingdom,” Larry Loren Fetzer said at the stand.
Intersoft POS of Riyadh has emerged as a provider of leading edge solutions by partnering with industry giants and providing solutions to the banking, identification and digital imaging, hospitality and retail sectors. “Our capabilities to deliver global solutions with the local flavor by forging strategic partnerships with some world technology giants are our specialty,” Ammar F. Al-Qadi, its management executive, said.
Retail Business Solutions (RBS) is the NCR authorized reseller for the retail systems in the Kingdom. The company is exhibiting in the US pavilion. Its products include POS, Dynakey, scanners, kiosk services, applications, frequent shopper, electronic shelf labeling, self-service checkout, kiosk solution, store data warehousing and loyalty scheme system, said Rami Braiwesh. Riyadh-based Unique Products is a new company showcasing in the US pavilion. Its products are related to computer and IT, mobile and telephony, and wireless communication.
