RIYADH, 19 March 2004 — HTG-Margie clinched Team of the Week honors during the 11th session of the NAK Park USA Sunday Night Bowling League 8th Conference at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes here.
Captained by Retchie Yap, HTG-Margie posted figures of 27 points and total pinfalls of 4,306 in trouncing Blue Blood which had 12 points and total pinfalls of 3,901.
Coming off back-to-back honors, Saudi Tornado vented its fury this time on Al Mishari Pinbusters for a massive 23-9 triumph on total pinfalls of 3,950 and 3,720. D’Marvelous and Schneider Electric both scored big victories over D’Invaders 27-13 and Okey Lang 23-10 on total pinfalls of 4,239-4,014 and 3,986-3,797 respectively.
Unlimited VI outgunned Jadawel Bowling Club 20-18 (4,112-4,003) in the other match in the five-man team tournament sponsored by NAK ParkUSA.
Fhel Ramos of D’Marvelous was named Bowler of the Week after hitting the high series of 957 on lines of 191, 247, 268, 211 and 40 handicap. HTG’s Nanie Caballero, Unlimited VI’s Ding Balagtas and Jim Lasaca of D’Marvelous were the other players to break 900 at 932, 921 and 909 in that order.
HTG-Margie was highly efficient on the night: Tony Tapayan tallied 856, Jun Sabalburo 855 and Nap Torres 815 to go with that high number by Caballero.
Angel Pantoja and Boy Mirando were Schneider’s 1-2 punch with 851 and 837, while Cas Encila made 782, Resty de Jesus 604, Eric Perez 553 and Marvin Arocena 359.
Besides Balagtas, it was the trio of Saud Egil, Rod Tagaban and Mike Mangubat who also sparkled for Unlimited VI with solid rounds of 826, 805 and 795 in that order.
