NEW YORK, 21 March 2004 — Keyshawn Johnson officially became a member of the Dallas Cowboys Friday when Joey Galloway agreed to terms with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, completing the swap of wide receivers.

While Johnson had already agreed to a reported four-year $20 million deal with the Cowboys the trade could not be confirmed until the Buccaneers hammered out an agreement with Galloway. That happened Friday when the speedy Galloway accepted a one-year deal worth $2 million, and $500,000 in incentives.

Galloway will immediately step in and fill the void left by Johnson, a three-time Pro Bowler who had worn out his welcome in Tampa Bay. Johnson was deactivated for the final six games of the season and told he was not wanted at practice.

Johnson had helped take the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl championship 2002 but last season grew increasingly frustrated at his reduced role in Gruden’s offense, recording 45 catches for 600 yards in 10 games before being deactivated. Lightning quick and a true game breaker, Galloway caught 34 passes for 672 yards, a league best 19.8 yards per catch.
