JEDDAH, 23 March 2004 - Darussalam, a multilingual international Islamic publishing organization based in Riyadh, has become the symbol of authenticity in Islamic literature.

It has been publishing most authentic Islamic books in the light of the Qur'an and the Sahih Hadiths in all major international languages, including English, Urdu, Hindi, Spanish, French, Malayalam, Albanian, Pushto and Bengali. Since its inception, it is engaged in publishing the translation of the Qur'an in languages like Persian, Turkish, Indonesian and Russian.

Since the Qur'an, the revelation of Allah's words for guidance, is the primary source of Islamic teachings, the correct understanding of the holy book is necessary for every Muslim. The Tafsir of ibn Kathir Al-Hafiz Abu Al-Fida Imad Ad-Din Ismail is the most renowned and accepted explanation of the Qur'an in the world. One finds in it the best presentation of Hadiths, history and scholarly commentary.

Darussalam has translated this Tafsir first time in the English language in 10 volumes. Many scholars did the translation from the United States, Canada, Egypt, Pakistan and India in two years. This beneficial Tafsir is the complete and authentic source to understand the Qur'an. Darussalam has published more than 800 Islamic titles in 14 languages. The main objective of this effort is to present the fundamentals of Islam as explained by the most recognized Islamic scholars of the Muslim world.

A new project of Darussalam is to present the Qur'an and the famous translation of its meaning in the English language by Dr. Muhsin Khan for the first time on audio cassettes. Sheikh Nadir Al-Qallawi does the recitation of the Qur'an and Bilal Abdul-Karim reads the translation. Abdul-Malik Mujahid, chief executive of Riyadh-based Maktaba Darussalam, has supervised the presentation.
