RIYADH, 24 April 2004 — Prince Faisal ibn Salman, chairman of Saudi Research & Marketing Group, has expressed satisfaction over the company’s performance in the first quarter of this year.

Addressing a meeting of directors of the group’s companies, editors in chief of its publications and the group’s finance manager, Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of cooperation to success.

“The meeting, held at the SRMG headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday, reviewed the group’s first quarter financial results, which showed an increase in revenues over estimates in the current budget,” a company statement said.

“Prince Faisal expressed satisfaction over the results and urged publications and companies to join in the effort to further increase revenues,” the statement added.

The chairman also urged the editors in chief and company officials to enhance the quality and popularity of the group’s publications and increase their distribution and advertisement revenues. “The result of our efforts in terms of distribution and advertising have been visible in the first quarter,” the chairman said. Prince Faisal commended efforts of SRPC newspapers and magazines to distinguish themselves among other publications.

“That equation is the basis of success in the publishing industry,” the chairman said. “These meetings, which bring together all top officials in the group, promote a culture of cooperation, which is the hallmark of a modern organization,” he said. SRPC is the publisher of Arab News and a dozen other newspapers and magazines including Asharq Al-Awsat, Eqtisadiah, Al-Majalla and Sayidaty.
