JEDDAH, 30 April 2004 — Muhammad Tajuddin was in his late teens when he headed to Saudi Arabia. In his Bangladesh hometown, he was disillusioned with his school career and did not know what to do with his life, so he joined his uncles, both artists, in Jeddah and started learning to wield a palette and brush. Soon, he joined a bandwagon of commercial artists. “I’ve been doing commercial artwork in the past few years,” said Tajuddin, 31, who comes from Kanhaiyaghat in Sylhet district.
He has lived in Jeddah since 1992. Although busy with commercial work, Tajuddin uses his pastime to create “imaginary” pieces of art. “I indulge in all forms of art to create whatever occurs to my mind,” he said. With Labor Day falling tomorrow, Tajuddin is making an artwork to extend Labor Day greetings to Labor and Social Affairs Minister Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi.
Tajuddin is snapped with his artwork that shows a Madinah mosque, the national flag, and football heroes including his favorite Diego Maradona. “I’ve been praying for Maradona’s speedy recovery,” said Tajuddin, a resident of Hail Salama district.
