NEW DELHI, 4 May 2004 — The Election Commission team probing allegations of large-scale vote rigging in the Chapra parliamentary constituency in Bihar yesterday said they had come across serious allegations of violence, vote rigging and collusion of district administration and poll officials with criminals who disrupted voting there on April 26.
EC’s special adviser, K.J. Rao, a member of the team, told reporters here that they had come across the allegations in the last two days when they talked to candidates, representatives of political parties, poll officials and voters. “We cannot disclose the content of our report, which we will submit to the EC on May 4,” Rao said.
