MAKKAH, 5 May 2004 — A wife taught her husband a lesson because he told her he was going to take a second wife, Al-Bilad reported. It all began when the husband, a school principal, began teasing his wife about marrying one of the local girls. In fact, he was not joking; an engagement party had been arranged and a wedding date chosen. Then his wife found out and attacked him verbally in the strongest terms. When he ignored her words, she beat him until he ran out of the house to one of his relative’s houses. As a result, the man decided not to marry a second time. He sent one of his relatives to inform the girl and her family of the change of plans.
