Bahlas Cap Pepsi While KCC Shade Crescent: Sharbatly Cup

JEDDAH, 14 May 2004 — The first Sharbatly Cup knockout tape ball cricket tournament got under way at Sharbatly Cold Stores ground. The tournament is organized by Sharbatly Cricket Club and sponsored by Sharbatly Cold Stores Jeddah.

Bahlas club beat Pepsi Cricket Club (PCC) by 10 runs and Karachi Cricket Club (KCC) won by 60 runs against Crescent.

Batting first, Bahlas scored 135 for 9 in 12 overs with the help of Nadeem — 40 (4x6, 1x4) Shafiq — 27 (3x6), Karim Khan — 16 (2x6 & 1x4) and Irfan — 12 (2x6). Aamir and Munawwer grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply PCC scored 50 runs in 6 overs,with only the tailenders remaining. They managed 75 more runs in 31 balls and bowled out for 125.

Aamir-20, Abid-16, Waheed-14 and Shahbaz-12 batted well.

Shafiq claimed 3 wickets and was declared man of the match. KCC rattled up 158 for 9 in 12 overs with Zahid Khan (46 — 3x6, 3x4) and Saleem (30 — 3x6, 3x4) leading the way.

Rizwan contributed 19 and Zulfi ll. Kashif remain unbeaten on 11. Rizwan took 3 wickets for 30 runs.

In reply, Crescent were bowled out for 97 runs. Saleem bowled well for 4 wickets and was adjudged man of the match.
