Abdul Aziz ibn Salman Named Assistant Minister

JEDDAH, 24 May 2004 — Undersecretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Salman has been promoted to the post of assistant minister of petroleum and mineral resources for petroleum affairs.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd said in a royal decree the appointment was made on the recommendation of Crown Prince Abdullah.

Prince Abdul Aziz joined the ministry in 1987 as an adviser to the minister after obtaining a master’s degree in business administration from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. A specialist in oil technology and economics, he has taken part in several OPEC meetings and negotiations with international oil giants.
