DUBAI, 28 May 2004 — Elaf Group yesterday announced an aggressive multimillion-dollar expansion program. The group, ranked among the top 100 companies in Saudi Arabia, will invest in new hotel projects and tourism branches, starting in Dubai and later elsewhere in the Middle East. The group also plans to open a regional office in Dubai by 2005.

“The travel and tourism industry in the Middle East is growing at a rapid pace and the group is poised to profit from this trend to emerge as a leading hospitality company in the region. Hence we’re making sound investments in quality infrastructure and services,” Moutaz F. Kayal, chairman of Elaf Group of Companies, said. As part of its promotional program, the group awarded key accounts in events conducted in Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, England, Dubai during the Arabian Travel Market 2004, and recently in Abu Dhabi. The group’s core activities include owning and managing 10 hotels in the five- and four-star category, inbound and outbound tour services, general sales agents for airlines, cargo, Haj and Umrah service packages, interior décor, and IT services.

Being one of the premier tour operators, the group’s Travel & Tourism Company was recently awarded the Marriott One Thousand Nights Club Award for the second consecutive year for generating over 1,000 room nights in a year. It, along with Elaf Hotels Company, holds an ISO 9001 certification in its field.
