Groom Calls His Wedding Off

MAKKAH, 1 June 2004 — A happy occasion turned into a sad one when the groom called everything off before the ceremony was over, Al-Watan reported. The problem began when the bride's 13 year-old sister disappeared from the hall. The bride's father was quick to accuse the groom's brother of kidnapping and hiding his daughter. The argument soon turned into to a fistfight between the families of the bride and groom; police were called to restore order. As a result, the groom decided to call the wedding off. Later, the father discovered that his ex-wife had taken the 13 year-old away without telling him.
