JEDDAH, 1 June 2004 — Seven people, all Asian expatriates, were killed and three were injured in a collision between two vehicles in Al-Ajwad neighborhood east of Makkah Expressway here. The accident happened at 8 a.m. when a pickup truck carrying passengers in the back hit a small Mitsubishi Lancer. Teams from police and Saudi Red Crescent arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the nearby Al-Thagher Hospital.
According to doctors, the survivors suffered minor injuries and are expected to recover quickly. The bodies of those killed were taken to the hospital’s morgue while police are carrying out their investigation.
