RIYADH, 19 June 2004 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, phoned Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak yesterday to inquire about his health, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Abdullah “sought to reassure himself about the health” of Mubarak during a telephone conversation from the Red Sea city of Jeddah, SPA said. Mubarak “expressed appreciation” for the call, it added. The two leaders also discussed “relations between the two brotherly countries and developments in the region,” SPA added without further details.
