Tech Access, Sun Microsystems’ channel development provider, opened a two-day congress in Dubai attended by 100 Sun Microsystem partners, aimed at informing them about new technology opportunities, as well as sharing information on the latest business wins. The forum, which was open to partners from across the GCC, Levant, Pakistan and North Africa, was extended by an extra day in order to fully brief delegates on emerging technological developments. It is the second partner sales corner to be held this year — demonstrating Sun’s ongoing dialogue with its partners in the region.

“Delegates at today’s session reported a wide range of wins from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and even Yemen,” said Shomail Ghalib, managing director, Tech Access. “Partners across the region are consistently winning major deals, and developing leading-edge solutions on Sun technology and this event provides an important snap-shot of the shared success of the partner network in the Middle East.”

Among the case studies reviewed at the event, delegates heard from Royah, a specialized solution vendor based in Jeddah, which developed an Express Oracle implementation approach for rapid implementation of Oracle suite of applications in record time. It has used this implementation approach to deploy Oracle upon Sun hardware in a number of leading Saudi enterprises.
