UAE, New Zealand foreign ministers review bilateral ties

DUBAI: UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan spoke with his New Zealand counterpart Winston Peters over the phone on Sunday to discuss the strengthening of ties between their countries, Emirates News Agency reported.

During the call, the ministers reviewed the current state of cooperation between the UAE and New Zealand and explored ways to enhance collaboration in various sectors, including the economy, trade and renewable energy.

The two sides also discussed the two countries’ ongoing efforts to establish a comprehensive economic partnership agreement.

Such an agreement is expected to unlock promising opportunities for cooperation in several developmental fields.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the strong and distinguished relations between the UAE and New Zealand and expressed a mutual desire to further bolster these ties to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

Talks covered a range of issues of common interest, as well as recent developments on the regional and international stages, particularly in the Middle East.
