RIYADH, 12 August 2004 — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) presented SR1 million toward the membership of Prince Salman Center for Handicap Research at a ceremony held here.
Riyadh Governor Prince Salman, who is also the director of the Prince Salman Center for Handicap Research, conveyed his thanks and appreciation to Abdullah Bahamdan, chairman of the board of directors and member of the managing division of the NCB, for the bank’s membership. The SR1 million check is the first installment of the total membership fee of SR5 million.
Prince Salman praised the NCB’s response and support to the center’s goals and recalled that the bank had made the initial contribution to the fund for establishing the center. The center, dedicated to the cause of the disabled in the Kingdom, is in the process of laying the foundation for providing preventive and curative facilities through scientific research.
Prince Salman emphasized the cooperation of all private sector organizations, government bodies and citizens to support scientific research in the interest of the disabled.
He invited all national banks, businessmen and private sector establishments to invest in social service, especially in the area of scientific research for the cause of the handicapped.
Bahamdan said the NCB’s membership of the Prince Salman Center follows the bank’s recognition of its social role in contributing to the efforts of scientific research, and charitable and humanitarian endeavors. “The NCB recognizes the national obligations toward society through its participation in various social activities,” he added.
