JEDDAH, 14 August 2004 — The Interior Ministry yesterday identified the Saudi militant killed in a shootout near Makkah on Wednesday as Abdul Rahman ibn Obaidullah Al-Harbi and said the man was Al-Qaeda’s bomb maker and wanted by police for his direct involvement in criminal activities.
“Al-Harbi was one of the suspects wanted by security agencies for his adoption of the Takfeeri (branding opponents infidels) ideology and for his direct participation in criminal activities for the deviant group,” the official said.
