JEDDAH, 18 August 2004 — Haneefa Mannengal, an Indian expatriate employee at Jeddah’s Bahrawi Company, is seeking to win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records by making a calendar for 1,000 years.

“I got the idea while visiting a museum in New Delhi last year. There was a calendar for three years. I tried first to make a calendar for 25 years. Now I can make a calendar for 1,000 years using the same formula,” he told Arab News.

Haneefa recently signed a deal with Al-Faris International, an affiliate of Prince Abdul Aziz Bandar Group, to market the calendar in Gulf countries as a promotional gift in the form of a keychain. “In the keychain we can install a calendar for up to 150 years,” he pointed out.

Haneefa has developed a technique to remove patches of tires within three minutes without removing them from a vehicle. He believes the invention will be a big relief for car users.
