Gulf Medical College Plans Physiotherapy Program

AJMAN, 21 August 2004 — Gulf Medical College, Ajman has announced a bachelor of physiotherapy (BPT) program commencing in September. The BPT program has good facilities with state-of-the-art equipment to train the students.

One important facility offered is that during the clinical training period it sponsors students for summer training program at reputed hospitals, which helps them to get additional clinical exposure, BPT Program Vice Principal Vinod Abraham said.

Rise in the number of road and industrial accidents has seen an increased role for physiotherapists to ensure faster recovery and optimal rehabilitation.

To achieve the ratios of developed nations, there is a large need for qualified and well-trained physiotherapists in the GCC.

“The BPT program at the college strives to meet the need by providing quality physiotherapy education in the GCC,” college President Thumbay Moideen said.
