RIYADH, 30 August 2004 — A new school — Al-Iqbal International School (AIIS) — which will cater primarily for Asian students has opened in Riyadh.
The school will follow British, American and Asian curricula and provide students with a strong basis in science and technology.
Addressing the inaugural function here, school chairman Rana Abdul Rauf said that the school building has some 50 air-conditioned rooms, library, computer lab, science lab, clinic, canteen, prayer room, parking facility and a playground.
Rauf said students seeking admission before Sept. 10 will be given “special discounts”. Al-Iqbal School, located in the city center on Al Moarekh Ibn Bashir Street, near Al-Nahda Road (South), will serve the Pakistani community in particular and Asian community in general.
Rauf said Sept. 11 will be the first academic day of the school which has a separate campus for girls adjacent to the boys’ section.
