Stonesoft, a network security solution vendor, has appointed Mohamed Halawa to be its first Middle East territory manager and Maher Jadallah, to be area sales manager for Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In his new position, Halawa will be responsible for developing Stonesoft’s business opportunities and the strengthening of its channel program, as well as working closely with existing partners.
“Mohamed has a strong background in security, and has a wealth of knowledge on the issues and concerns of enterprise organizations who are looking to invest in protecting their networks from attack,” said Jari Valvisto, vice president Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and emerging markets, Stonesoft. “I am delighted he has joined Stonesoft and I look forward to work with him.”
Halawa, who spent five years with IBM in Egypt before joining Stonesoft, has considerable experience in the technical implementation, project management and development of security solutions.
In addition to the two new appointments, Stonesoft has also moved its regional headquarters to larger offices within the Dubai Internet City. The vendor will also be exhibiting at GITEX, the Middle East’s premier IT show, for the first time in its own right.
“Stonesoft has put into place a program of investment in the Middle East which will continue to drive our business across the region. Since opening our regional office in February this year, we have seen a strong interest from companies wanting to implement network security solutions,” said Valvisto.
In a move to support IBM iSeries server users in the Middle East, Valvisto said Stonesoft’s StoneGate Firewall and Virtual Private Network (VPN) are now available — the only internal enterprise firewall and VPN available for the iSeries today.
