RIYADH, 8 September 2004 — Filipino voters in the Kingdom who have not yet claimed their voter’s IDs at the Philippine Embassy have three months to do so, Ambassador Bahnarim A. Guinomla has said.

He said these voter’s IDs may be claimed personally by the owner or by an authorized representative within a period of three months.

After three months, all unclaimed IDs may be returned to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for mailing at the voters’ Philippine addresses, Guinomla added.

Many of those who signed up during last year's registration absentee voting registration last year did not claim their IDs amid reports that many of these were defective. Others leaving in far-flung places of the Kingdom said they could not afford to spend so much just to get their ID.
